Wilhelm KRAUSKOPF (Zerbst 1847 -?) "Boy drinking" (allegory of Taste) Original etching from a painting by Franz Hals (Antwerp 1580 - Haarlem 1666). Beautiful specimen printed on Japanese paper applied on heavy paper, with large practically uncut margins and in an almost perfect general state of conservation. The original painting by Franz Hals, datable between 1626 and 1628 and probably part of a series dedicated to the five senses, is now kept in the Staatliches Museum in Schwerin in Germany. Bibliography: Milesi "Dictionary of Engravers" Bergamo 1989 pag.200. Thieme - Becker "Allgemeines Lexicon der bildenden Kunstler" Leipzig, sd vol.XXI page 471. Measurements in mm: 560 x 418 with wider margins
